We have been cooking hard since the start of July with new feature releases almost every week. It has been one of the most exciting times for us as a team, to receive quick feedback from users to iterate and ship things fast.
Here’s a quick breakdown of all the features that have been launched since July. If you haven’t checked them out yet, go ahead and do so now.
July 2025 (3 new updates)
- Monitor embedded activity by country: Track where your embedded videos are being viewed.
- Revised interactions: Add multiple interactions to a single video.
- Restrict video access by domain: Limit who can view your videos based on domain. By default all domains are white listed, but if you find something new, you can restrict the domain giving you an extra layer of protection.
August 2025 (6 new updates)
- Disable your public profile: Turn off your public Dadan profile at any time.
- Anonymous submissions to video requests: When you raise a video recording request, people can respond to it without signing up for dadan. Just turn on the anonymous submission option. No sign ups, no installations.
- Webhook integration: With webhooks, you can now connect any CRM or email marketing software to send the lead submissions directly to your software.
- Universal player page settings: Customize the player window by updating the color, player controls, playback options universally across all videos. You can deliver a clean and simple playback experience to your viewers.
- Enhanced meeting recorder: The updated meeting recorded has 100% accuracy of joining the meetings and getting your videos uploaded to your library. The reliability is now 10X
- New transcription languages: (Hebrew, Hindi, and Malayalam) now supported in transcriptions. Find your language missing? Hit us and we will add it to the list.
September 2025 (18 new updates and counting..)
- Hide the recording control menu: Keep recording controls out of sight during recording.
- Transparent recording controls: See your screen clearly while controls stay visible. The recording toolbar will now have reduced transparency – check the extension recording toolbar.
- New extension workflow: Improved recording and upload flow in the extension. We have introduced a new option to record videos locally and then uploaded to dadan. This helps users record long videos without losing recordings.
- Disable camera blue light: Turn off the blue indicator while recording.
- Move webcam anywhere: Drag your webcam bubble to any spot on the screen. You can move the webcam to the right end of the screen, but early on, you cannot.
- Updated Windows build: Login issues resolved, supports recording dual display setup (self-explanatory).
- CNAME support: Use your custom domain for dadan links. The most requested feature during this period.
- Customize player page controls: Choose which buttons appear on your player pages.
- Customize player branding: Add your own logo to show up in the player. Helps with brand recall when you embed the video to your site.
- Brave browser fix: Uploads now work smoothly in Brave.
- Voice lag fix: Resolved audio delay in extension and desktop app.
Brand New
- New embed options: Choose between light and regular embeds.
- Light embed: This options loads the thumbnail of the videos first, enabling faster load time of the web page. When a user clicks on the video, the speciifc video is loaded.
- Full embed: This feature loads the video directly ready for playback. Recommended for single video embeds.
- Custom player icons: Upload your own favicon.
- Transcript regeneration: A new feature has just gone live. Check the transcript, you will find the option to delete and regenrate.
- Interaction timeline slider: Adjust when interactions appear in your video. ?
- Local edit saving: Resume editing later without losing changes. You can resume editing any time – if you make an edit to a video, the changes are saved. So when you open the editor again, you can see the edits available
- Copy on export: All exported edits are saved as a new copy. Earlier, when you edited a video, you could save and replace the original video or save as a copy; now, you can only save as a copy, so that the original video is not lost
- New streaming workflow: Videos now load and play faster. We have incorporated m3U8, which helps you load your videos faster, even at low internet speeds. This will improve video playback performance. This also ensures viewers cannot download your video, since the video is loaded in multiple segments.
